Museo de Balamban
July 6, 2016. It was my 3rd week in Balamban, the municipality at the western part of Cebu and from where I plow the new field of my endeavour. It was a holiday, so I decided to drive around town and get familiar with the place.
I'm a retrophiliac, I love things of the past. In my quest to search for something new and eye catching, I finally found one and its not so far away from my apartment. As I was driving in the direction towards Asturias Cebu, at a quick glance I pass by a very beautifully built old house which was extravagantly restored and renovated.
I thought of not stopping by and just wanted to continue driving around. Upon making a right turn, few meters away from the corner, I once again glanced at a house that resembles the same materials used with the one that I saw earlier and the gate reads "Museo de Balamban". Without a doubt, I made a u-turn and turned left to discover what's lay in store for me.

Museo de Balamban, is full of things of the past I am passionate about. This museum is owned by the family of Msgr. Achilles Dakay. According to the caretaker, this museum is a tribute to Msgr. Dakay's sister who lived in the United States of America that later on went home to join our Creator. His sister did not get the chance to see this beautiful repository.

Here you can see a collection of books about the history of early Cebu, books for the champions, the grandfather's clock, vintage radio, turntables, longplay records, vintage speakers and a lot more.

More books and vintage collection upstairs.

This museum encourages reading utterly.

My favourite spot.

If you need a quiet place, this museum is a good place to be in. You can sit down, read books, or you can just relax and be idle all day long for an entrance fee of less than a hundred pesos.
